Paul Kash and Robert Milligan are both assigned to the Crime Unit. The Crime Unit is one of the specialty units at the Police Department. This is a one- year assignment and you must re-apply each year.

Some of the functions of the Crime Unit are: street level drug cases, assisting the task force, handling time consuming calls such as shootings or other calls that could keep a patrol officer tied up and keep him from patrolling his zone.

They also fill in when patrol is short handed and help with numerous other special details. While serving on the Crime Unit, these officers become very familiar with the drug dealers and the drug areas in Lake City. Their dedication to their assignment is very important in assuring the safety of the citizens of Lake City.

Vice-Mayor John Robertson is receiving a $750,000 Housing grant from the Department of Community Affairs in Tallahassee. This grant will improve the quality of life for many of our citizens.
