The City of Lake City is accepting internal applications for the position of Procurement Specialist. This position is responsible for performing independently warehousing duties of loading and unloading orders, stocking inventory and maintaining the warehouse including housekeeping; transporting orders of equipment, materials and supplies; and insuring that assignments are completed in a safe, proper and timely manner. This position requires use of a fork lift, pallet jacks and hand trucks.  Lifting, carrying and frequent stooping is required. 

Ideal candidate will possess knowledge of standard office practices, procedures and equipment; knowledge of procurement practices, procedures and standard reference materials; knowledge of store keeping practices and procedures; knowledge of computer word processing, software application, spread sheets and data entry; and knowledge of grades, qualities, supply sources and market factors for products/services frequently required. The candidate should have the ability to perform mathematical calculations; ability to establish and maintain a good working relationship; and have knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicant must possess a minimum of a High School Diploma or General Education Diploma; an Associates of Arts degree is preferred. At least two (2) years training in computer data entry, Microsoft Office and working for a governmental agency or large company in a warehousing capacity preferred.  Applicant will be required to pass a background check, pre-employment physical and drug screen.
