MIN. SALARY RANGE:     $31,200.00

The City of Lake City is accepting applications for the position of Wastewater Operator Trainee. Work is performed under close supervision of an Operations Supervisor and other Certified Operators.

The successful candidate will be trained in wastewater treatment or water pollution control facilities, leading to a certification by the State of Florida as a Certified Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator. The candidate will be expected to learn laboratory procedures, the nature of tools, machines and equipment used in these operations. Duties include collecting samples, taking measurements, calibrating equipment, recording and entering data, assessing the data, and making process changes as a result of those data assessments. This role will also clean and maintain equipment and work area. Operate medium and heavy equipment.

Minimum Qualifications:  Must be a High School Graduate or possess a General Education Diploma (GED).  Must have a valid Florida Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
