Second Public Hearing Notice
The City of Lake City plans to apply for the Florida Department of Commerce FFY 23-24, State FY 24-25 Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) in the Neighborhood Revitalization category for $1,171,030. The activities and estimated dollar amounts are as follows:
Engineering: $234,206
Road Construction: $801,815
Sidewalk Construction: $135,009
The City will repave 0.6 miles of asphalt and repair 1,100 linear feet of sidewalk on NE Martin Luther King Jr. St from NW Texas Ave. to NE Broadway Ave. in Lake City, FL 32055.
This project will benefit over 51% Low-Middle income persons, meeting the US Department of Housing and Urban Development's national objective for the Road and Sidewalk Construction activities.
In developing a CDBG application, the City of Lake City must plan to minimize displacement of persons as a result of the activities. In addition, the City of Lake City is required to develop a plan to assist displaced persons.
A public hearing to obtain citizen comment concerning the City’s application will be held in the City Council Chambers located on the second floor of City Hall at 205 North Marion Avenue, Lake City, FL 32055, on May 5, 2025, at 6:00 PM.

A copy of the draft application will be available during normal business hours at the City Hall finance office by noon April 30, 2025. Final drafts will be available at the same location no later than May 12, 2025.
